Baden Croft’s practice is influenced by a life spent exploring the rugged Australian wilderness. Based on Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula, the early career artist spends countless hours free diving and trudging through bushland in search of a subject or moment that sparks his interest.

In thick textured oil paint up to 3cm in depth, Croft paints quickly and unapologetically. It’s this energetic approach the artist feels best allows him to revisit particular experiences and better communicate the kinesis of nature and themes of environmental destruction.

Baden’s work comes to life with depth, movement and subtle plays on perspective. With subjects spanning from underwater caves to gnarled gums and native florals. Since Croft’s first solo exhibition in 2017, his paintings have greatly appreciated and are now recognised and sought after by Art Collectors and Interior Designers.

Baden has exhibited in group and solo exhibitions in Sydney and Melbourne and his works are held in private collections around Australia and internationally.
